Immersive Marker Film:
Emotion in the Bunker
A 2-minute CGI film for the "Dear Time" exhibition at Tabloo Science Museum in Dessel, Belgium ā using MoodMe's Emotion AI to track visitors' emotional responses to the long-term danger of radioactive waste.
The Tabloo exhibition needed to confront visitors with the existential danger of radioactive waste ā a hazard that persists for thousands of years. The climactic film had to provoke genuine emotional responses, but the team also wanted to measure and analyze those reactions to understand how effectively the experience communicated its message of intergenerational warning.
MoodMe's Emotion AI SDK was integrated into the installation, enabling real-time facial emotion detection as visitors watched the immersive CGI film. The SDK captures micro-expressions frame by frame ā detecting fear, surprise, disgust, sadness, and contemplation ā providing Alfavision with quantitative emotional data to validate the exhibit's impact.
Inside the Marker
Visitors enter a symbolic marker ā a structure designed to warn future civilizations about buried nuclear waste. The immersive CGI film guides them through a disturbing environment that provokes reflection on memory, danger, and intergenerational communication. Meanwhile, MoodMe's Emotion AI silently records their emotional journey in real time.
Technology Stack
MoodMe's Emotion AI SDK powered the real-time emotional analytics layer ā from face detection to micro-expression classification and data export.
