Gucci needed to elevate their mobile CX with personalized product discovery — letting customers virtually try on high-end eyewear with full fidelity to real materials, while surfacing recommendations matched to each user's unique characteristics. Building this in-house would cost hundreds of thousands in R&D and consulting.
MoodMe integrated its proprietary Face AR SDK with real-time emotion and demographic detection directly into Gucci's brand app. Because MoodMe owns the IP, Gucci skipped the in-house build entirely — saving millions — and shipped a recommendation engine that matches frames to each user's mood, age, and gender on every frame.
What happens when personalization meets your users and your products?
Revenue increases when product recommendations match real human needs and characteristics. MoodMe's Face AI analyzes every frame in real time — surfacing the right Gucci eyewear for the right shopper, in the right moment.

Photorealistic AR Try-On
3D models of Gucci glasses are applied to the user's face in real time with full respect for the textures and colours of premium materials. Brand catalogues are created automatically using MoodMe's tool — just 2 photos per model or CAD files.
Analytics tied directly to ecommerce
Because the try-on lives inside the brand app and connects directly to checkout, every interaction is measurable. MoodMe quantified the value of each integration — proving an ROI that simply isn't possible without Face AI tied to virtual brand experiences.
And because every inference runs on the edge device — never sending biometric data to a server — MoodMe earned the privacy trust of one of the world's largest luxury brands.
One Face AI, every retail surface
The same SDK that powers Gucci's mobile try-on extends to digital signage, in-store kiosks, and consented webcam experiences on the web — bringing personalized recommendations to every customer touchpoint.
Our project with Gucci, impacting over 4 million people, set the stage for MoodMe as a serious player in the retail industry — offering insights with compliance and privacy at a global level.
Other luxury brands followed, drawn by the power of MoodMe's ethical Face AI.
